The Arrival

Check out Shaun Tan's new book, The Arrival. This text challenges the notion of literature! It has won literary awards but is a visual text, a graphic novel without any words. Great narrative and it captures much of the emotion of great literature. http://www.shauntan.net/books/the-arrival.html

Hi Julbain, I'm writing about postmodern children's texts for university - I'm enjoying them enormously.
I've found heaps of picture book titles, and I know of some graphic novels; do you know of any other postmodern novels for YA? Joel and Cat set the story straight?
Your suggestions welcomed.

Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by John Safron Foer is a novel for young adults that have really impressed some students at my school. This has various voices and apart from that is a really emotional, well written novel.
